Kevin Merz
 

He is a well-known name in the Swiss audiovisual industry. A Swiss director, creative innovator, and co-founder of the Generative Center — a company dedica projects and formats in generative artificial intelligence. His films often tackle complex social issues, telling stories rooted in meaningful places and giving voice to people with whom audiences can form a deep emotional connection.

With a background ranging from arthouse cinema to blockbusters, he has worked alongside Peter Fleischmann and Ueli Steiger, gaining in-depth knowledge of the industry. His works have been screened at prestigious festivals and institutions such as the Sundance Film Festival, MoMA, and the Piazza Grande in Locarno.

Beyond cinema, he is a co-lecturer at the University of St. Gallen, where he teaches a course on User-Generated Advertising, and he has collaborated with the European Film Center Babelsberg to train film professionals in Rwanda. Passionate about the evolving creative landscape, he is currently focused on the transformative power of AI, contributing to the creation of a center of excellence dedicated to the applications of generative artificial intelligence in storytelling and beyond.

He is now part of a team working with Swiss broadcaster RSI to develop an educational format aimed at filmmakers, focused on using artificial intelligence in the creative and production process.
